Shine with Joy: Talia the Turtle and the Star Pose

A gentle story to celebrate joy, self-expression, and the quiet sparkle within.

Start your day with Talia the Turtle. She welcomes her ocean friends with peaceful stretches and soft, joyful breaths. Talia reminds everyone that joy doesn’t have to be loud—it can glow quietly, like sunlight on the sea. Her calming presence helps kids connect with happiness from the inside out. They move through their day with steady hearts. Their bright smiles shine.

The morning sea shimmered with golden light, filtering down like sunshine confetti. Tiny bubbles floated through the coral, and soft seaweed swayed with a sleepy rhythm. Talia the Turtle opened her eyes slowly, resting on a smooth patch of sand near the reef.

She could feel something special in the water today.

“Joy is waking up,” she whispered to herself, smiling gently.

She peeked around and noticed a group of her ocean friends nearby. A shy jellyfish peeked from behind a rock. Two playful clownfish darted through an anemone, giggling. Even the sleepy sea snail was stretching its tiny foot toward the light.

“Come join me,” Talia said warmly. “Let’s start our day with joy.”

Her friends gathered around as she began their Joy Flow.

“First, let’s take some Sunshine Breaths,” she said. They all placed their fins or flippers over their hearts and breathed in slowly.

“Inhale brightness… exhale joy,” Talia guided.

As they breathed, they imagined sunlight filling them from the inside—warming their hearts and softening their shells. Bubbles of joy rose gently to the surface.

“Now let’s shine together in Star Pose,” Talia said.

She slowly stretched her flippers and legs out wide, forming the shape of a peaceful star. Her friends followed, floating gently in the same shape.

“Joy isn’t always noisy,” Talia said softly. “Sometimes it’s a quiet glow that says, ‘I’m happy to be me.’”

They held the pose, breathing in and out, feeling their joy ripple out like waves.

Next came the Gentle Jiggle. They shook out their fins, tails, and shells just a little—like happy seaweed dancing in a gentle current.

“Let your wiggles be welcome,” Talia smiled. “There’s joy in movement, too.”

Then, they practiced Gratitude Glow. Each creature thought of one thing that made them smile—sunlight, a friend, or a cozy shell. They imagined their joy lighting up like a lantern inside.

Finally, they floated in Still Star, resting in the shape of stars but closing their eyes. The reef was quiet now, full of peaceful joy.

“You don’t have to shine loudly,” Talia whispered. “Just be your joyful self, and that’s more than enough.”

When the practice was done, everyone felt calmer, lighter, and brighter. The sea glowed with kindness and laughter, even in the quiet.

Talia smiled as her friends swam off, carrying their joy with them like a glowing pearl tucked safely inside.

“Let your joy shine,” she said softly, “no matter what kind of day the sea brings.”
