In a quiet corner of a garden, lavender swayed gently. Bees buzzed softly. In this tranquil setting lived a graceful gray cat named Cleo. She loved two things more than anything—stretching and snoozing. But Cleo knew that before every great catnap came a great stretch.

Every afternoon, the sun warmed the garden stones. The breeze rustled the leaves. Cleo gathered her garden friends for a gentle yoga break. Her goal? To teach everyone the art of soft, slow movement that melts away tension and invites calm.

“Let’s purr our way to peace,” Cleo purred, arching her back and flicking her tail.

They started with Gentle Cat Breath. Cleo sat still, closed her eyes, and took a slow inhale through her nose… then a long, sighing exhale. The birds followed her lead, fluffing their feathers as they breathed. Even the buzzing bees hovered quietly.

Next came Cat-Cow Flow. Cleo moved to all fours and rounded her back like a rainbow—this was Cat Pose. Then she dipped her belly low, lifting her chin—Cow Pose. Back and forth they moved, in rhythm with their breath. “Stretch your spine like a sleepy cat waking from a nap,” Cleo whispered.

Then came Tail Curl. Still on hands and knees, each friend tucked their bottom in and gently swayed side to side. “Imagine your tail curling around you like a hug,” Cleo said. The little ones smiled, imagining their own soft tails swishing in the breeze.

In Paw Stretch Pose, Cleo reached one paw forward. Then, she reached the other paw, shifting her weight to feel a soft stretch. The kids copied, enjoying the sensation of slowing down.

Next was Kitten Curl. Everyone folded into Child’s Pose—knees wide, arms long, forehead to the mat. “Let’s rest like cozy kittens in a sunny window,” Cleo murmured. The garden grew hushed, and the flowers seemed to lean in closer.

To finish, Cleo led the group in a Purring Breath. Everyone placed their hands on their belly and hummed gently as they exhaled, like a cat purring after a nap. “This helps calm our hearts and minds,” Cleo said. “Just listen to your inner purr.”

The session ended with a big stretch and a contented sigh.

“Every body needs rest,” Cleo reminded her friends. “And every stretch brings a little more peace.”

From that day forward, Cleo’s Catnap Garden Yoga became a favorite moment for all who needed a pause. Whether they were wiggly or weary, big or small, they found comfort in Cat Pose—and the calm it carried.
